So, I've had another lesson working on my Preliminary Task, so I'm just gonna explain what I've been doing for it since last Friday.
Monday
I had a lesson on Monday, and we were continuing with our front covers. I received some feedback from my teacher for my first draft, and was told that my colour scheme was a bit off. My original colour scheme was black, yellow and white to go with the college logo, but my teacher pointed out that if the writing was in these colours, it was difficult to see what was written. Therefore, I scrapped the white and had a simpler colour scheme of black and yellow. I believe my front cover is finished, as I added the final touches - namely, the barcode and the price - and thought it best to begin work on my contents page.
Tuesday
I didn't have a Media lesson on Tuesday, but I had a free lesson so I got on a computer and began my contents page. I only really wanted to get everything onto the InDesign document and laid out where wanted it to be laid out. Therefore, I don't have to start from scratch in my actual lesson. However, I realised that although the contents were in categories (features, regulars, etc.) they still had to be in chronological order according to where they appeared in the magazine. I therefore created a flat-plan for my magazine (below) and used this to order the contents on my contents page.
