So, I had a lesson yesterday and we were being introduced to Photoshop. For the Preliminary Task, we have to create a front cover and a contents page of a student magazine, and the front cover has to be created on Photoshop, so we were taught the basics and then left to create our front cover.
We learned how to:
- Create a new document and adjust the size
- Create margins using the rulers
- Create layers
- Put images and text onto Photoshop
After going through all this, we began to create our front covers. I used a separate layer for each element e.g. one layer for the background image, another for the masthead, another for the first cover line and so on. I put all the cover lines on the cover, following the colour scheme that I had chosen (black, yellow and white, to go with the college logo that I had chosen as the logo can actually be found with lots of different colour schemes). I managed to put everything that I wanted on the front cover, so my first draft is complete.
